On April 7th, BYD announced its high-end new energy vehicle brand, YANGWANG, which was introduced earlier this year. Two YANGWANG production models were also showcased: the million-level new energy hardcore off-road U8 and million-level pure electric performance supercar U9.
Among them, YANGWANG U9 adopts the “Time and Space Gateway” design language, with a yellow exterior and a dotted light strip for the headlights. After the design was unveiled, some netizens commented that it was ugly and that the headlights caused fear of density.
According to the latest official release, BYD really did make changes. The new design of YANGWANG U9 was officially unveiled today. In addition to the most obvious color change, the U9’s light strip has been changed to a linear style, the side skirts have been extended, and a large fixed rear wing has been added to the rear of the car.
The new U9 electric supercar will make its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 18th. It is positioned as a million-level pure electric performance supercar, and the vehicle is equipped with the Yi Si Fang power system, with a zero to 100 km/h acceleration time of 2 seconds.
