On April 10th, BYD held a “YUN NIAN Intelligent Body Control System Release Conference” and released the “YUN NIAN” technology.
YUN NIAN technology is divided into four different sets of body control systems: YUN NIAN-C, YUN NIAN-A, YUN NIAN-P, and YUN NIAN-X, each with a different focus, and different models are equipped with different technologies.
- YUN NIAN-C: Intelligent damping control system. Adjusts the four electric damping shock absorbers by controlling the sensors on the vehicle to weaken vehicle pitching and rolling.
- YUN NIAN-A: Active air suspension, which can be equipped with multi-chamber air springs to adjust suspension stiffness and height. Combined with intelligent driving sensors, it can actively sense the intersection ahead and achieve adaptive adjustment. The air suspension system is also integrated with the seats to actively adjust lateral support.
- YUN NIAN-P: The crucial intelligent electric and hydraulic suspension used in the YANGWANG U8. Actively adjusts stiffness and height and has the ability to automatically level the body. Combined with multi-camera and LiDAR, it can actively sense off-road conditions and keep all four wheels on the ground. It can withstand a 1.5-meter drop and can also support three-wheel driving when necessary.
- YUN NIAN-X: BYD’s Low Rider model’s air-liquid composite intelligent suspension, which has powerful body adjustment capabilities that allow the body to briefly soar.
YUN NIAN starts from the systematic control of the entire vehicle in the vertical direction to achieve safety enhancement. YUN NIAN can effectively suppress changes in vehicle posture, greatly reduce the risk of vehicle rollover, and minimize driver and passenger seat displacement. At the same time, the YUN NIAN system can effectively protect the vehicle on complex road conditions such as snow, mud, and water, avoiding damage caused by terrain, and improving driving comfort and safety to achieve dual protection for people and vehicles.
The YUN NIAN product matrix and the first batch of models equipped include YUN NIAN-C (HAN EV), YUN NIAN-A (DENZA N7), YUN NIAN-P (YANGWANG U8), and YUN NIAN-X (YANGWANG U9).
The most attention-grabbing is the YANGWANG U9 equipped with YUN NIAN-X technology, which demonstrates full active body control technology and can achieve advanced functions such as “0” tilt, “0” pitching, three-wheel driving, vehicle dancing, and jumping in place.
DENZA AUTO DENZA N7, a subsidiary of BYD, will be the first in the world to be equipped with YUN NIAN-A body control system.
