On April 18th, it was announced that BYD’s first B+ class super hybrid sedan, the “Destroyer 07,” was officially unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. The “Destroyer 07” adopts the concept of marine aesthetics and is equipped with DM-i super hybrid technology. The price range is between 200,000 and 250,000 yuan (31,000-38,600 USD), and the new car will officially go on sale in the third quarter of this year.
The Destroyer 07 is positioned as a B+ class super hybrid sedan, with a length, width, and height of 4980/1890/1495mm, and a wheelbase of 2900mm. The Destroyer 07 is built based on the marine aesthetics design concept.
Destroyer 07 inherits the design elements of OCEAN X concept car, with slightly raised sides on the hood.
The whole vehicle adopts a streamlined design, with two independent waistlines on the front and rear fenders, making the body look longer and simpler. The clean and cut design of the side skirts extends all the way to the rear bumper, enhancing the overall sense of power.
The car features a hidden door handle, frameless doors, and a sleek design. The top of the car hood is also equipped with a strip-shaped high brake light. The interior is equipped with a full LCD instrument panel and a rotatable central control screen. In the future, it will also be equipped with the BYD YUN NIAN-C body control system.
Destroyer 07 is equipped with two sets of powertrains: the high-efficiency 1.5L Xiaolong-Plug-in-Hybrid (PHEV) engine and the Xiaolong-Plug-in-Hybrid turbocharged 1.5Ti engine, matched with the EHS hybrid system and a super hybrid-specific power blade battery. This achieves ultra-high efficiency with electric drive as the main power source, efficient engine charging, and timely auxiliary driving under all working conditions.
At the same time, Destroyer 07 offers two NEDC pure electric ranges: 121km (75 miles) and 200km (124 miles), making it the only PHEV car in its class to offer a pure electric range of 200km (124 miles).
