On April 14th, BYD held a new car launch event in Barcelona, Spain, announcing that the Dolphin and Sea Lion models will enter the European market in 2023. The Dolphin will begin pre-sales this summer and will be delivered in the fourth quarter. The Sea Lion will also be launched in Europe soon and will meet local European consumers.
Following the launch of three models – Han, Tang, and BYD ATTO 3 in Europe last year, the Dolphin and Sea Lion are a new batch of pure electric models launched by BYD in Europe, and also the first batch of ocean-themed models launched in the European market.
BYD announced its entry into the European passenger car market in September 2022. As of now, BYD new energy vehicles have been delivered in over 10 countries in Europe.
BYD’s global passenger car sales exceeded 1.86 million in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 155.1%. As of now, BYD’s cumulative sales of new energy vehicles worldwide have exceeded 3.9 million, covering six continents, more than 70 countries and regions, and over 400 cities.
