On July 31st, BYD teamed up with Sime Darby Motors to launch the Dolphin model in Malaysia. This is BYD’s second pure electric vehicle launched in Malaysia, following the BYD ATTO 3 model.
The BYD Dolphin’s standard range version is priced at 9,990 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately 157,000 RMB), while the long-range version is priced at 12,490 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately 196,000 RMB). In comparison, the BYD Dolphin is priced at 116,800-136,800 RMB in China.
The Malaysian version of the Dolphin has dimensions of 4290/1770/1570mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 2700mm. It features through-type LED headlights and geometric taillights.
The car’s interior is equipped with a 12.8-inch intelligent rotating touch screen and a six-speaker sound system. The long-endurance version adds a panoramic glass sunroof, wireless charging pad, 6-way electric driver’s seat adjustment, and front seat ventilation function.
On the power side, the standard range version is equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 70kW + a 44.9kWh lithium iron battery, with a NEDC range of up to 410 kilometers; the long range version is equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 150kW + a 60.48kWh battery pack, with a NEDC range of up to 490 kilometers and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 7 seconds.
