On June 22nd, it was reported that BYD launched the highly anticipated Yuan PLUS model in the United Arab Emirates on June 21st. The pre-sale price is 149,900 dirhams, which is about 40,730 US dollars, further helping the UAE achieve its “Zero Emissions Strategy 2050” goal.

The Yuan PLUS is BYD’s first A-class trendy SUV built on the e-platform 3.0, with a low drag coefficient of 0.29, acceleration of 7.3 seconds per 100 kilometers, and a maximum range of up to 420km (WLTP).

Mr. Huang Zhixue, General Manager of BYD’s Middle East and Africa Auto Sales Division, stated: “The climate in the UAE is unique, and therefore, we understand the importance of localizing our products for the local market. Last year, we conducted a series of high-temperature tests to ensure that the BYD Yuan Plus can perform at its best even in the hot climate of the region, to ensure that our users can have the best driving experience.”

BYD officials also revealed that as of May 2023, the cumulative sales of BYD’s global new energy vehicles have exceeded 4.3 million units.
