Horizon Robotics and BYD have already achieved mass production of multiple vehicle models based on the Journey series chips. In the future, the two parties will collaborate on the Journey 5 series, focusing on advanced intelligent driving assistance.

Both parties have previously embarked on a journey of 5 targeted cooperation, planning to create a parking and driving integrated solution based on this chip, accelerating the mass production of advanced intelligent driving. Currently, Horizon’s All Journey series of chips support BYD’s multi-level new energy vehicle models to achieve advanced intelligent driving assistance experience.

As Horizon’s third-generation automotive intelligent chip, Journey 5 is equipped with the BPU Bayesian intelligent acceleration engine, combining performance and computing power. At the same time, thanks to the design of software and hardware collaboration, Journey 5 can support large-scale neural network computing and native support for various models and operators, including Transformer models required for BEV perception, and relying on heterogeneous computing resources, it can not only be used for image perception algorithm acceleration but also support multi-sensor fusion such as lidar and millimeter-wave radar.

At the same time, Horizon has also developed intelligent computing development tool products based on Journey 5, including chip development kits, domain control reference designs, chip toolchains, and software development tools, which provide full-process support for the development and deployment of advanced intelligent driving. Journey 5 can support the development and deployment of BEV algorithms, accelerating the mass production of advanced intelligent driving assistance functions for automakers.
