“The first cooperative model is the Dolphin.” The cooperation plan includes city NOA (Navigate on Autopilot), which does not rely on high-precision maps, according to sources.

The Dolphin is an electric SUV model in the BYD Ocean Life series, expected to be launched this year. Previously, the BYD Ocean Life series has released the B-class sedan Sea Lion and the A0-class Seagull.

According to DJI Automotive, its entry-level city NOA solution can use purely visual routes, relying on nine cameras and 80 TOPS (computing power units) to eliminate the dependence on high-precision maps, achieving functions such as parking assistance, memory parking, memory driving, high-speed navigation driving, and urban navigation driving. DJI Automotive stated that the product is currently available and is actively promoting mass production.

At the same time, DJI Automotive believes that the total cost of L2+ intelligent driving system accounts for 5%~8% of the vehicle’s selling price, which is reasonable and must achieve L2+ intelligent driving experience between 5,000 yuan and 15,000 yuan (740-2220 US dollars).

The DJI Automotive team has about 1300 people and has previously reached cooperation with SAIC-GM-Wuling and Volkswagen Group (China). With the cooperation with BYD, DJI Automotive can further expand the market in the field of intelligent driving mass production.
