On April 25th, it was reported that Tesla in mainland China opened its charging network to other non-Tesla new energy vehicles as a trial. The first batch of trial stations opened 10 Tesla supercharging stations, which are available for use by 37 non-Tesla models.
BYD, NIO, ZEEKR, LI AUTO, and other brands can all use Tesla’s charging stations.
For a long time, Tesla’s Supercharger stations were only available to Tesla drivers. At the end of 2021, Tesla launched an “Open Charging Network Pilot Program” in Europe for non-Tesla vehicles, and owners in more than 10 countries and regions around the world can now enjoy this service.
It is worth mentioning that in March of this year, Tesla’s first V4 Supercharger station was officially launched in the Netherlands. During the trial operation phase, the station was only open to Tesla vehicles. However, Tesla has announced that its V4 Supercharger stations will be open to all electric vehicles, which may help the growth of its charging business.
As of now, Tesla has deployed over 1,600 Supercharger stations and over 10,000 Supercharger connectors in mainland China, along with over 700 destination charging stations and over 2,000 destination charging connectors, covering all provincial capitals and municipalities.
