On June 19th, Tesla significantly reduced the prices of its Model S and Model X inventory in the US market in order to boost sales performance this quarter, and also offered three years of free Supercharging service.
Recently, Tesla has lowered the prices of Model X and Model S by $8,000 and is offering three years of free supercharging service for customers who purchase a car before June 30th.
According to Tesla’s official website, these measures mean that customers can now buy the 2023 Tesla Model S for around $83,000, with a discount of $7,500. The price of Model X is around $93,000, which is lower than the previous $102,240, with a discount of $7,810.
Originally, this preferential policy was launched to attract owners of old Model S cars to upgrade to new ones, but later expanded to all new orders.
It is reported that Tesla’s Model S inventory has increased by more than twice in the past three weeks, which may be one of the reasons why Tesla is offering more discounts. Tesla CEO Musk once said that Tesla would not frequently offer discounts in order to pursue sales like other car manufacturers, but in this quarter, Tesla seems to have to make some compromises.
In addition to the price reduction of Model S and Model X, Tesla also offers three months of free supercharging service for Model 3 owners who deliver by the end of June. For consumers who want to buy Tesla models or products, they can use referral codes to earn Tesla points, which can be used to redeem rewards such as Cybertruck lottery tickets, Tesla accessories, and free supercharging mileage.
