A few years ago, Tesla updated the Model S and Model X models with the Yoke shaped steering wheel, and Tesla did not provide a traditional circular steering wheel as an alternative option, which caused controversy.
Later, Tesla decided to offer retrofit services for owners who want a circular steering wheel instead of the Yoke steering wheel. Tesla started offering circular steering wheel retrofit services earlier this month. Apparently, the new circular steering wheel is very popular and the product is currently sold out.
Tesla began offering circular steering wheel retrofit services on March 15, with a price tag of up to $700. It can be purchased through the Tesla app, and the app will arrange Tesla service appointments, with installation costs included in the purchase price.
Tesla has not disclosed how many circular steering wheel retrofit kits have been provided for the Model S and Model X, but the fact that the product sold out in just eight days still shows that this retrofit kit is very popular among owners, and it seems that many owners are still not able to adapt to the Yoke steering wheel.
