On September 1st, it was confirmed that the rumored new version of Tesla Model 3 was finally released for sale today at around 9:00. The new car has been listed on the official website with the following prices and configurations:
- New Model 3 Standard Range: 259,900 RMB (rear-wheel drive)
- New Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor AWD: 295,900 RMB
According to the official website, the rear-wheel drive model can provide a CLTC range of 606 kilometers, a top speed of 200 km/h, and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.1 seconds.
As for the long-range model, its top speed is also 200 km/h, but the 0-100 km/h acceleration time is shortened to 4.4 seconds, and the CLTC range reaches 713 kilometers.
Currently, the car is still in the pre-order stage, and it is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter.
In terms of optional configurations, the new car offers free pure black car paint, as well as pearl white and deep sea blue car paint for 8000 yuan, and starry gray and flame red car paint for 12000 yuan.
As for the configuration, the new car’s intelligent driving hardware uses HW 3.5 instead of the previously rumored HW 4.0. In addition, the new car has added streaming rearview mirrors, front cameras, and seat ventilation functions. At the same time, the shifting method has been changed to the touch-shift of the Model S.
The aerodynamic coefficient of the new Model 3 has been optimized to 0.22, compared to the old Model 3’s coefficient of 0.23. According to previously leaked information, the new car’s batteries are provided by CATL, with capacities of 66kWh and 72kWh, respectively.
In terms of intelligent driving assistance, the new car still provides two options: an enhanced version of Autopilot and fully automatic driving (FSD), priced at 32,000 yuan and 64,000 yuan, respectively.
In terms of other configurations, the new Model 3 offers a 15.4-inch central touch screen and an 8-inch rear control screen that can perform various functions such as seat heating, air volume adjustment, playing music or videos, etc. The long-range all-wheel drive model is equipped with a 17-speaker sound system, which is said to provide a “theater-like immersion” experience.
The new car also adopts a brand new sealing system, equipped with upgraded sound insulation materials and front and rear windows with double-layer acoustic glass, which the official claims can enhance the overall quietness of the vehicle. In addition, the car has added remote safety airbags, equipped with new door hinges, locks, and latches, which is expected to significantly improve its safety performance.
