European automotive giant Stellantis is evaluating Tesla’s NACS charging standard

On June 14th, Stellantis, a European car manufacturer, stated in a declaration to Reuters that the company is continuously evaluating NACS standards and looks forward to further discussions in the future.

The NACS standard is currently Tesla’s charging design plan. Previously reported, Ford and General Motors have announced that they will adopt Tesla’s charging standard in subsequent models and provide compatible charging solutions to existing electric vehicle users. At this point, the three major North American automakers have completed the unification of charging standards, and Tesla’s charging design plan is expected to become the unified standard in North America.

Stralantis also pointed out in the statement: “Our focus is to provide customers with the best possible charging experience. Our Free2Move Charge service will provide seamless and simple solutions through cooperation with charging service providers, allowing customers to charge conveniently whether at home or on the go.”

Stralantis Group was formed by the merger of Peugeot Citroen (PSA) and Fiat Chrysler Automotive (FCA) in 2021, headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and has many brands such as Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroen, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, and Maserati. The company announced in February that it has launched 23 pure electric vehicles and is expected to increase to 47 by the end of 2024.
