Specifically, CATL, which has been the world’s number one electric vehicle battery manufacturer for several months, had the highest new installation volume of electric vehicle batteries in the first two months of this year, with 25.5 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 34%, and a market share of 33.9%.
BYD, which extensively uses blade batteries, had the second-highest new installation volume after CATL, with 13.7 GWh of electric vehicle batteries installed in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 122.6%. Their market share also increased to 18.2%, surpassing LG Energy Solution.
LG Energy Solution, which fell to third place, had a market share of 13.3% in the first two months of this year. Panasonic, which has been supplying batteries to Tesla for a long time, ranked fourth, with 4.1 GWh of electric vehicle batteries installed in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 47.6%, and a market share of 5.5%.
SK Innovation and Samsung SDI, both Korean manufacturers, ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, with the former installing 4.1 GWh of new batteries and the latter’s installation volume increasing by 57.2% year-on-year to 3.7 GWh, with a market share of 4.9%.
