On August 22nd, it was announced that Xiaomi Motors would be launched, and various industry rumors have been flying around since then. Currently, the only thing that can be confirmed is that it will be released in 2024.
According to the latest news from Interface News, it has been learned from insiders at Xiaomi that CALB and CATL have been confirmed as the first- and second-tier battery suppliers for Xiaomi Motors this year.
Reports suggest that it was widely speculated that CATL and BYD would be the battery suppliers for Xiaomi Motors, but a BYD official revealed that Xiaomi Motors is not currently on its list of power battery suppliers.
Actually, the battery information of Xiaomi’s car has already been exposed before. In July of this year, automotive blogger @MetaAuto published a blog post claiming to have obtained detailed parameters of Xiaomi’s car battery.
From the picture attached to this post, it can be seen that the battery label has the Xiaomi logo on it, with the following specifications:
- Model: A1310C
- Manufacturer code: f47832
- Lithium-ion battery
- Voltage: 726.7V
- Battery capacity: 139.0Ah, 101.0kWh
- Weight: 642.0kg
From the above specifications, it can be inferred that the power battery used in Xiaomi’s electric vehicle is expected to support 800V high-voltage fast charging and have a capacity of 101 kWh. Several automotive bloggers in the comments section also pointed out that this battery “should be a ternary lithium version”.
