Tesla Q2 sales forecast: Majority of deliveries from China market and Shanghai factory

On July 3rd, Tesla released its production and delivery report for Q2 2023. The report shows that the total production of Tesla cars for the quarter reached 479,700, with deliveries of 466,140, representing an 83% year-on-year increase. This is also Tesla’s quarterly sales record.

Following the release of official data by Tesla, the independent research institution TroyTeslike released its predictions on the regional distribution of Q2 Tesla deliveries.

Prior to this, Troy Teslike had expected to deliver 448,000 cars and produce 471,355.

According to this forecast, the distribution of Tesla’s various models will be as follows:

Model S / X (high-price flagship sedan, SUV models):

  • USA: 9,725 units
  • Canada: 500 units
  • Europe: 4,500 units
  • China: 3,000 units
  • Other markets: 1,500 units

Model 3 (137,208 units)

  • USA: 58,000 units
  • Canada: 4,500 units
  • Europe: 18,000 units
  • China: 48,000 units
  • Other markets: 8,708 units

Model Y (309,797 units)

  • USA: 107,706 units
  • Canada: 4,500 units
  • Europe: 72,202 units
  • China: 104,464 units
  • Other markets: 20,853 units

All Tesla models delivered in that month will be manufactured by the four super factories in Fremont, Shanghai, Berlin, and Texas, and the specific expectations are as follows:

  • Fremont Factory: a total of 147,049 units delivered
  • Shanghai Factory: a total of 227,466 units delivered
  • Berlin Factory: a total of 46,925 units delivered
  • Texas Factory: a total of 44,700 units delivered
