XPENG has released official spy photos of its new G6 coupe SUV model, which will be officially unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show from April 18th to 27th. The vehicle will be officially released and delivered in the second quarter of this year, with a price range of about 200,000 to 300,000 yuan (approximately $31,200 to $46,800).
XPENG G6 has already appeared in the previous declaration information. The new car is built on XPENG’s third-generation F platform and is positioned as a mid-size coupe SUV.
In terms of appearance, the overall design of XPENG G6 is similar to Tesla Model Y, but still follows XPENG’s latest generation of family design language. The front face adopts the iconic penetrating LED light strip and split-type headlight design. The car uses hidden door handles, and the roof adopts a streamlined design. In terms of body size, the new car is 4753/ 1920/ 1650mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2890mm.
Regarding the interior, according to the previous interior spy photos, the biggest change is the adoption of a suspended central control screen.
As for the powertrain, the new car offers two options: a single-motor and a dual-motor version. The single-motor version has a peak power of 218 kW, while the dual-motor version adds a motor with a maximum power of 140 kW, and a top speed of 202 km/h (approximately 125 mph). The new car will be equipped with CATL’s ternary lithium battery. In addition, the new car is built on an 800V high-voltage SiC platform and has the same 800V fast charging technology as the XPENG G9.
In terms of intelligent driving, the new car is expected to be equipped with XPENG’s advanced intelligent connectivity and autonomous driving functions. Currently, XPENG has integrated “full-scenario assisted driving,” including high-speed NGP, urban NGP, LCC enhanced version, and other intelligent assisted driving functions. It is expected that these functions will all appear on the XPENG G6.
In addition, XPENG CEO He Xiaopeng revealed some important information about the G6 at the 2022 annual financial report meeting. XPENG’s integrated die-casting technology will be applied to the G6 to further control manufacturing costs. Regarding the range, He Xiaopeng stated that thanks to CIB technology, thermal management technology, and wind resistance, the G6’s range performance will exceed everyone’s expectations.
