The Croatian electric car, Rimac Nevera, broke 23 records in a single day, reaching 0-60 mph in only 1.74 seconds

On May 17th, Rimac Nevera, a fully electric supercar designed and produced by Croatian car manufacturer Rimac Automobili, demonstrated powerful performance. Recently, on the 4-kilometer straight track of ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg in Germany, Rimac Nevera set 23 performance records in just one day, with the most notable being its 0-400 km/h acceleration time of only 21.31 seconds.

Established in 2009, Rimac Automobili has been dedicated to developing the most advanced electric supercars. Rimac’s first electric car, the Concept_One, was launched in 2016 and was considered one of the fastest production cars in the world at the time, despite only producing 8 units. Rimac’s second electric car, the Concept_Two, debuted in 2018 and eventually evolved into the production version, the Nevera. Rimac promises that the production scale of the Nevera will be larger, with an expected production of 150 units, each priced at $2.4 million. The price is indeed high, but as people say, you get what you pay for.

Six months ago, Rimac claimed that the Nevera had set the record for the highest speed of an electric car. Now Rimac has created 23 additional performance records, declaring the Nevera an “unprecedented record-breaking supercar.” These records were independently verified by third-party companies Dewesoft and RaceLogic, and a professional team was on site to ensure that all equipment was in good condition. In addition to the 0-400 km/h acceleration record, the Nevera also set records for the quarter-mile, standing mile (reaching maximum speed within one mile), and 100-0 km/h braking distance. The team noted that the Nevera even exceeded the officially announced 0-60 mph acceleration time of 1.85 seconds, actually achieving it in just 1.74 seconds.

The reason why the Nevera can set so many records is due to its 120 kWh battery pack and four electric motors each equipped on a tire, producing a maximum horsepower of 1942PS and a peak torque of 2362N.m. Currently, the Rimac Nevera is the world’s fastest production electric car.
