On May 11th, it was reported that the first Fisker Ocean rolled off the production line just a few weeks after the announcement of the new production line in March. According to Fisker’s official website, co-founder Henrik Fisker recently delivered the first Fisker Ocean to a customer in Copenhagen, Denmark. The starting price for this Fisker Ocean is $70,500.
Fisker only produced a small number of Ocean electric SUVs in the fourth quarter of 2022, but plans to significantly increase production in 2023 with an expected annual output of up to 42,000 vehicles. As of now, Fisker has received over 65,000 orders for the Ocean. The Fisker Ocean is the brand’s first pure electric SUV, which was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2021 and competes with rivals such as the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mach-E. The WLTP range of the Fisker Ocean is approximately 440 miles (about 708.11 kilometers).
Compared to competitors such as Tesla, Fisker has not established its own charging network like Tesla. Instead, it has partnered with companies including Deftpower in the EU and ChargePoint in the United States to provide charging solutions for customers. This strategy has helped Fisker avoid large capital investments and the slow process of building a basic charging infrastructure like Tesla. Fisker Automotive was founded in 2005 in Anaheim, California and was one of the pioneers in the electric vehicle industry.
