According to media reports, in the trend of developing new energy vehicles such as electric cars, Hyundai and Kia, the two major brands under the Hyundai Motor Group in South Korea, have also invested heavily, launching multiple models and exporting them to many countries.
The latest foreign media reports show that with the increasing demand for new energy vehicles, South Korea’s new energy vehicle exports are also increasing.
The latest foreign media quoted data from the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, reporting that in February this year, South Korea exported 62,861 new energy vehicles, increasing by 61.1% YoY, with an export value of 2.02 billion USD, increasing by 83.4% YoY.
The report also mentioned that February is the month with the highest exports of new energy vehicles in South Korea since the statistics were recorded, in terms of both export volume and export value.
In addition, from the data released by South Korea, among the new energy vehicles exported in February, 30,843 were electric vehicles, increasing by 76.6% YoY, and 26,033 were hybrid vehicles, increasing by 48.8% YoY.
Driven by the significant YoY increase in new energy vehicle exports, South Korea’s overall vehicle exports and export value in February also increased significantly.
Data shows that in February, South Korea exported a total of 222,934 vehicles, increasing by 34.8% YoY, with an export value of 5.59 billion USD, increasing by 47.1% YoY and setting a new record.
