Smart has officially announced its second model after a comprehensive upgrade – the #3, and has also revealed the design details of the new car.
This car is positioned as an intelligent pure electric compact SUV coupe, brought by the Mercedes-Benz global design team with “new luxury sports aesthetics”. From the design drawings, this car has stronger muscle tension and a lower proportion.
The new car has appeared in the list of public announcements of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. As shown in the figure, the new car adopts the latest family design concept. The front face can be seen with headlights similar to #1 and a through-type LED light source. The body can provide monochrome and two-color designs for consumers to choose from. The rear can be seen with the “#3” and “Haofeng Jingling” logo.
Regarding power, the Smart Elf #3 dual-motor four-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 115 and 200 kilowatts. In addition, it will also launch a single-motor model with a maximum power of 200 kilowatts.
Smart #3 road test spy photos have been exposed by European media, and there are rumors that it will be released in Europe on April 17th and will be launched in China for sale at the end of this year. The Chinese version may debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April.
It is currently known that this model is built on the SEA platform, positioned as a small to medium-sized luxury SUV, with a length of about 4.3 meters and the front row can be connected left and right. In addition, the new car is expected to also launch a regular version and a BRABUS performance version, with single and dual motor versions expected to be available for selection.
It is reported that the appearance of this car is designed by Geely Sweden Gothenburg Design Center, with the same architecture as Smart Fortwo and Volvo XC30, and a size of around 4.3 meters.
