On August 10th, NETA Automotive officially announced its entry into the Indonesian market, and its three models, NETA S, NETA U-II, and NETA V, made their debut at the Indonesia International Auto Show. It is reported that Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and others visited the NETA Automotive booth to learn about NETA’s global strategy and experience the “best-selling overseas models”.
It is worth noting that the small SUV model NETA V achieved the “sales champion” of pure electric vehicles in Thailand in June, selling a total of 2025 units that month. Prior to this, models such as NETA V and NETA U also entered the Jordanian market in June this year. NETA’s eco-intelligent factory in Thailand was officially laid in late March this year. It is said that NETA has established a European business unit, a Thai subsidiary, and its overseas market covers the ASEAN, South Asia, and Middle East markets.
Earlier reports stated that Indonesian Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia announced at a press conference last month that BYD, Wuling Motors, and other electric vehicle manufacturers will build factories in Indonesia. He also revealed that the Indonesian government is considering more tax incentives to attract electric vehicle manufacturers.
Chinese brand models currently available in the Indonesian market include but are not limited to Wuling Air EV, Wuling Almaz Hybrid, and BYD ATTO3 and electric bus BYD K9.
