According to Nikkei, Honda plans to launch 5 vehicle models including an electric mopet with pedals and bicycles with motors in China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Japan by 2024. From 2024 to 2025, they will add 5 more electric motorcycles.
At the same time, Honda aims to increase their electric two-wheeler sales by launching pedal-assisted bikes and electric bicycles in China and Southeast Asia. They plan to increase their global sales to more than 20 times their 2021 sales, reaching 3.5 million units by 2030 to accelerate the transformation to electric two-wheelers.
Honda had planned to complete the de-gasification of their two-wheeler sector by around 2040. However, due to market demand, Honda will not directly reduce the production capacity of their two-wheeled gasoline-powered vehicles for the time being.
