GM delivers 20,000 electric vehicles in Q1, mostly Chevy Bolt and Bolt EUV models.

On April 4th, according to media reports, General Motors announced on Monday local time that it delivered a total of 20,670 electric vehicles in the first quarter of 2023, marking the largest quarterly delivery of electric vehicles by the company to date.

Among these 20,670 electric vehicles, including 19,700 Chevrolet Bolt/Bolt EUV, 968 Cadillac Lyriq electric vehicles, and 2 Hummer electric vehicles.

General Motors also announced that in the first quarter of 2023, its new car sales in the United States increased by 17.6% year-on-year to 603,208 units, thanks to the continued strong demand for full-size and mid-size pickups, including a sharp increase in commercial fleet sales. The company said its market share increased by 1.5 percentage points, the largest increase among all automakers.

With the increase in production, General Motors dealers’ inventory increased by 50% in the first quarter of 2023, exceeding 412,000 vehicles. The company noted that it will produce 50,000 electric vehicles in North America by June of this year and double that in the second half of the year.
