On June 19th, Telo, a new electric vehicle company based in California, released its electric pickup truck MT1. Telo claims that the vehicle has a body size and flexibility close to that of the Mini Cooper SE, but also has the practicality comparable to that of a traditional pickup truck.
Telo stated that the MT1 chassis is made of carbon fiber material. The car is designed for 5 people, but the cargo compartment can be transformed in various ways to meet different usage scenarios. Telo pointed out that by extending the storage channel, this car can carry large-sized goods. In addition, the MT1 can also transform into an SUV to carry more passengers.
Telo emphasizes that MT1 is equipped with dual motor drive, which can provide 500 horsepower, accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds, and reach a maximum speed of 201 km/h. According to the introduction, MT1 is equipped with a 106 kWh battery pack, which can travel approximately 563 kilometers on a single charge. Telo pointed out that this battery pack supports fast charging, and can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
We noticed that Telo’s team has gathered experts from various industries, including Forrest North, the technical director of Tesla Roadster sports car, who is also a co-founder. The designer is Yves Behar, who previously served as the design director at Samsung Electronics, and his representative work is the Samsung “The Frame” series TV.
Starting at $49,999, users can pre-order the Telo MT1 by paying only $152. Telo claims that the first 500 MT1 vehicles will be handmade and delivered to users in 2025.
