On April 14th, SAIC-GM Buick officially launched the new Buick E5 AltEnergy electric SUV. The new car has five models to choose from, with a price range of 208,900 yuan to 278,900 yuan (32,000 to 43,000 US dollars). The detailed price information is as follows:
The Zhixiang Standard Range Version has a range of 545km (339 miles) and is priced at 208,900 yuan (about $32,000);
The Zhixiang Long Range Version has a range of 620km (386 miles) and is priced at 222,900 yuan (about $34,000);
The Zhenxiang Standard Range Version has a range of 545km (339 miles) and is priced at 225,900 yuan (about $35,000);
The Zhenxiang Long Range Version has a range of 620km (386 miles) and is priced at 239,900 yuan (about $34,000);
The Aiweia Four-wheel Drive Version has a range of 603km (375 miles) and is priced at 278,900 yuan (about $43,000).
The Buick E5’s exterior design is based on the PURE Design concept. The vehicle’s dimensions are 4892mm × 1905mm × 1684mm, with a wheelbase of 2954mm. The new car features a flying eaves and winged front face, with the “Three-color Shield” badge as the visual center, complemented by a closed grille and split headlights, giving it a high overall recognition. For the rear, the Buick E5 adopts a popular through-type taillight design, removing unnecessary decorations for a simple and concise overall design.
As for the interior, the Buick E5 is equipped with a new generation VCS intelligent cockpit, combined with a suspended EYEMAX 30-inch curved 6K screen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and a sophisticated electronic shifter, giving the car a strong sense of technology. In addition, the new car is also equipped with a 12.6-inch HUD head-up display system, which supports multiple display modes and can automatically adjust the brightness according to the ambient light, allowing the driver to obtain important information such as speed, navigation, assisted driving, music and entertainment without leaving the road, effectively ensuring driving safety.
As for the power, the standard range version is equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 180kW, using a 68kWh ternary lithium battery, with a maximum CLTC range of 545km (339 miles). The long-range version is equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 150kW, using an 80kWh ternary lithium battery, with a maximum CLTC range of 620km (386 miles). Buick Electra E5 will also offer a higher-performance AWD version. It adopts a layout of front permanent magnet synchronous motor and rear induction asynchronous motor, with a maximum power of 143kW for the front motor and 68kW for the rear motor, and is equipped with an 80kWh ternary lithium battery, with a maximum CLTC range of 603km (375 miles).
