On April 18th, it was reported that BMW’s concept car i Vision Dee, which has 32 colors that can change on its body, had its global debut at CES 2023 earlier this year. The car was showcased today at the Shanghai Auto Show.
BMW i Vision Dee concept car features a minimalist design, with the entire body covered by electronic paper film. Through different electronic pulses, the body can display up to 32 colors, including the ability to change the color of the wheel hub.
This car inherits the BMW brand DNA and iconic designs, such as the angel eyes headlights, double-kidney grille, and Hoffmeister kink. In addition, the front headlights and closed kidney grille form a common “characterization” icon on a uniform surface, which can change its status through E Ink technology.
BMW claims that the car has the BMW i digital emotional interaction system, which can “talk to people”. There are no physical buttons in the car, only a virtual projection is set in the center console area, with five buttons provided on the projection, creating an immersive experience and bringing users a new dimension of driving pleasure.
The BMW i Vision Dee production car is expected to be launched in 2025.
