Black Sesame Technology has announced the release of their new Wudang series of intelligent automotive cross-domain computing platforms, along with their first chip, the C1200. The company’s positioning has also been upgraded to “leader in intelligent automotive computing chips”. The C1200 chip is based on 7nm technology and features a vehicle-grade high-performance CPU core A78AE (150KDMIPS) and a vehicle-grade high-performance GPU core G78AE, providing powerful general computing and rendering capabilities. It also has its own DynamAI NN vehicle-grade low-power neural network acceleration engine, supporting NOA scenarios, a built-in high-performance Audio DSP module, and a new generation of self-developed NeuralIQ ISP module capable of processing 1.5G pixels per second.

The C1200 chip provides MCU computing power of 32KDIPMS, can process inputs from over 12 high-definition cameras simultaneously, and supports high-speed MIPI rates. Additionally, it supports the processing and forwarding of multiple CAN data streams, Ethernet interfaces, and all commonly used display interface formats. It also supports multi-screen output and multiple 4K capabilities, with dual-channel LPDDR5 memory chips to meet bandwidth requirements for cross-domain integration.

The C1200 chip features a hard-isolated independent computing subsystem that is independently rendered and displayed, meeting the high security and fast startup requirements of the instrument control screen. This subsystem can also be flexibly applied to autonomous driving, HUD head-up displays, and other computing scenarios that require an independent system.

Furthermore, the C1200 chip has built-in Safety Island modules that support ASIL-D level, as well as Security modules that support national encryption level 2 and EVITA full, meeting the highest reliability requirements for vehicle safety levels.

The C1200 chip can flexibly support various architecture combinations for current and future industry requirements, with a single chip capable of meeting cross-domain computing scenarios such as CMS (Camera Monitor System, electronic rearview mirror), integrated parking and driving, entire vehicle computing, infotainment systems, intelligent headlights, and cabin perception systems.

During the release event, Black Sesame Technology showcased the C1200 prototype and demonstrated single-chip application experiences based on the C1200. The C1200 chip is expected to provide samples within 2023.
