XPENG Motors upgraded 186 S4 supercharging stations across 91 cities in China

On April 4th, it was announced that XPENG had launched the S4 supercharging station in August last year, and began upgrading the self-operated S2 supercharging stations on the market to stations with S4 supercharging capabilities.

According to XPENG’s announcement on April 4th, as of the first quarter of 2023, the company has completed the upgrade of over 160 stations. In addition, 349 third-party free charging stations were added in the first quarter.

This site upgrade covers 91 cities in China, and XPENG has launched a total of 186 S4 supercharging stations in China.

In addition, as of April 1st, XPENG has launched over 2200 charging stations, with more than 1000 self-operated charging stations. The coverage rate of 3km replenishment life circle in core cities can reach 83.9%.

XPENG stated that it will continue to expand its S4 supercharging network layout, and it is expected to build about 500 stations with S4 supercharging service capability by 2023.

XPENG S4’s self-developed ultra-fast charging pile has a maximum power of 480kW and a maximum current of 670A. The peak charging power is 400kW. It supports XPENG G9 and is claimed to be able to charge 200km (CLTC) in 5 minutes.

Additionally, XPENG officially demonstrated the practical test of the self-developed ultra-fast charging station for the XPENG S4. The charging increased the mileage by 210km in just 5 minutes, which is even higher than what was advertised.
