On August 18th, Italian luxury sports car brand Lamborghini released a teaser, announcing that it would showcase its first pure electric sports car at the Monterey Car Week held today.
According to the foreign technology media 91Mobile, this pure electric sports car is named “Lanzador” which means “pitcher” or “thrower” in Spanish.
Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann revealed that the new car will be a 2+2 “high-performance luxury tourer” (grand tourer), which is more suitable for daily use compared to the Huracan or the new Revuelto.
The car will use the new platform “SSP Sport” developed by Porsche and is planned to be launched in 2028.
Lamborghini’s design director Mitja Borkert also stated that this new car “will retain 100% of Lamborghini’s design DNA”, and that Lamborghini’s Aventador, Huracan, and SUV model Urus will all be electrified in the future.
