On May 14th, it was reported that Turkey’s first electric intelligent SUV model, the TOGG T10X, has officially hit the road. This move marks Turkey as the first country in the Middle East to have the independent research and development capabilities to produce new energy vehicles.
Pre-orders for this car model started on March 16th, with a suggested price starting at 953,000 lire (approximately $5.28 thousand).
It is reported that the electric car has caused a strong response in the local car retail market as soon as it was launched, and has received more than 170,000 orders so far. In order to meet the demand of domestic consumers, the manufacturer has increased this year’s production plan from the original 12,000 vehicles to 20,000 vehicles.
The Turkish government expects that the series of vehicle models under TOGG will meet domestic market demand and export overseas by 2025. The total output is expected to exceed one million by 2030. Industry experts predict that the new energy vehicle industry will contribute at least $50 billion to the Turkish economy over the next 15 years and reduce the country’s budget deficit by $7 billion.
The Togg T10X puts the user at the center and can be connected to the internet through its smart living solutions, allowing for OTA remote updates. This model has a torque of 160 kW/218 HP and 350 Nm, with a range of 314 and 523 kilometers for the T10X RWD (rear-wheel drive).
In addition, the T10X also has a dual-motor 435 horsepower AWD all-wheel drive version, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and generate 700 Nm of torque. However, this model will be delivered with the 100th Anniversary Special Series on October 29, 2023.
According to the data, the 52.4 kWh version of T10X has a energy consumption value of 16.7 kWh/100 km (WLTP), while the 88.5 kWh battery version has a energy consumption value of 16.9 kWh/100 km (WLTP).
In terms of pricing, the T10X V1 RWD standard range version is priced at 953,000 RMB, the V2 RWD standard range version is priced at 1,055,000 RMB, and the V2 RWD long range version is priced at 1,215,000 RMB.
