On April 17th, MediaTek released a new integrated automotive solution – the Dimensity Auto platform, further enriching their portfolio of automotive products.
Dimensity Auto covers a combination of solutions in four areas, including: the Dimensity Auto cockpit platform, the Dimensity Auto connectivity platform, the Dimensity Auto driving platform, and the Dimensity Auto key components.
The Dimensity Auto cockpit platform is built on advanced processes and has high computing power and low power consumption. It integrates a high-performance AI processor with a deep learning accelerator (MDLA) and a visual processing unit (MVPU), providing flexible AI architecture and high scalability. MediaTek MiraVision smart display technology supports up to 8 screens and 8K 120Hz 10-bit ultra-high-definition display. The ISP image processor can support 16 camera inputs and generate HDR video quality. In addition, the platform provides high-fidelity audio through the HiFi5 DSP digital signal processor.
The Dimensity Auto connectivity platform has high integration and interoperability, as well as high performance and low power consumption. It supports 5G Sub-6GHz and provides high-reliability network connections, larger cellular network bandwidth, and high rates through multi-carrier aggregation technology. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 and is equipped with MediaTek’s unique hardware acceleration engine (Hardware Offload Technology). It supports highly interoperable coexistence of various wireless network standards, including parallel anti-interference of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and exclusive protocols for Wi-Fi and 5G cellular networks, making network connections inside and outside the car faster, more stable, and reliable. It supports multi-frequency GNSS global satellite navigation systems, providing more accurate positioning.
The Dimensity Auto driving platform is equipped with the MediaTek APU AI processor, aiming to provide mature solutions for intelligent driving.
Finally, the Dimensity Auto key components provide the automotive industry with a diverse range of core technologies and product combinations, including power management chips, screen drive chips, GNSS global satellite navigation systems, camera ISP, etc. It provides key component solutions for the automotive industry for a long time, providing reliable vehicle-grade chipsets for the new generation of intelligent cars.
