Official images of the brand new MINI COOPER EV electric car released

On April 12th, it was announced that the official image of the all-new MINI COOPER EV electric vehicle has been released. According to previous reports, the new car is expected to be launched in 2024.

The all-new MINI COOPER EV retains classic MINI elements, but has some innovations in design, such as triangular taillights and exquisite wheels. The model displayed in the official picture is the all-new MINI COOPER SE version, which continues to use a two-door body with a hatchback, a simpler front face design, and a newly designed circular LED headlight group. Most of the grille is closed, with only a small opening at the bottom for ventilation, and a black stripe above seems to hide the sensor.

The most obvious change in the new car is located at the rear, where the rectangular tail lights have been replaced by triangular ones, and the complex LED light strip inside still suggests the design of the British flag.

The all-new MINI COOPER EV will offer two power systems, gasoline engine and electric, with the electric version developed in collaboration with Great Wall Motors. According to the information revealed earlier, the all-new MINI COOPER EV is expected to offer two power levels, the MINI COOPER E and the MINI COOPER SE.

The MINI COOPER E will be equipped with a 40 kWh battery, with an estimated range of 386 km (240 miles) and a maximum power of 135 kW. The acceleration time from 0-100 km (0-62 miles) / hour is about 7 seconds.

The MINI COOPER SE will be equipped with a 54 kWh battery, with an estimated range of 483 km (300 miles) and a maximum power of 160 kW. Both models will be front-wheel drive, with the possibility of launching a JCW high-performance pure electric version in the future.

The gasoline engine version is expected to share the same appearance as the electric version, using an updated version of the current platform and assembled in Oxford, UK. The gasoline engine version should use the same turbocharged 1.5 liter three-cylinder and turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder engines as the current model.
