In addition to offering a variety of food and beverages, retail brand 7-Eleven recently launched its own fast charging network, called 7Charge, to provide more options for electric vehicle owners.

7-Eleven announced that it will install DC fast charging stations at select stores in North America, making it one of the largest charging networks in the convenience store industry. The network supports both CCS and CHAdeMO charging standards, making it suitable for most electric vehicle models. Tesla owners can also use the charging network with a CCS adapter. 7-Eleven has also launched the 7Charge app, which allows users to locate and pay for charging services. The network currently has 32 charging stations in four states, including California, Colorado, Florida, and Texas, with a maximum charging power of 90 kW.

The 7Charge stations will be located in parking lots near the stores and will have staff available 24/7. According to 7-Eleven, most charging stations in the US are currently located along highways, and the ultimate goal of 7Charge is to bring charging stations to communities. That’s why they chose to build the charging network based on stores. In addition to 7-Eleven stores, all of its gas stations will also be equipped with charging stations.

The company has not disclosed its final plans for how many charging stations it will build or its expected growth rate. Currently, there are over 9,400 7-Eleven stores in the US and over 560 in Canada, and the company has not indicated how many charging stations will be installed at each store.
